The Walls Go Up
The two long walls were built over Friday and Saturday, Aug 13 & 14. It rained Monday, so we erected them on Tuesday afternoon. Jack Holland, his son Taylor, Neighbor Ned, helped Paul & I. Campers came up, but too late to help.
Paul built the front wall on Thursday and put it up himself. The back wall was heavier, so we had Richard help us with it on Thursday morning before I left for work.
We put the top two rows of sheathing on the long walls on Sat. the 21st.

Breaking Ground
This first entry in my new blog just catches up with some of the preliminaries!
Gregg Johnston came out and cut slots in the concrete for septic/water line and power lines on May 17.
On May 26 Counts Bros. came and dug trench for septic & water. They had wrong size water line, so I had to go to Hunts to get 100 feet for $25. Water line is down about 30 inches, enclosed in plastic pipe and covered with 2 inch styrofoam and buried. Septic runs on top and is just below the surface of the pad. I will clean out trench down 4 inches so Gregg can pour concrete right up to the pipe and I'll have asphalt put over it later.
On June 7 Doug came over and dug trench for electric. Electrician came over on the 9th to run conduit down 30 inches. It runs over the septic drain line, which is only down about 20 inches. Doug filled in the trench on the 11th. Utilities are now done and ready for foundation.
