The Walls Go Up

The two long walls were built over Friday and Saturday, Aug 13 & 14. It rained Monday, so we erected them on Tuesday afternoon. Jack Holland, his son Taylor, Neighbor Ned, helped Paul & I. Campers came up, but too late to help.
Paul built the front wall on Thursday and put it up himself. The back wall was heavier, so we had Richard help us with it on Thursday morning before I left for work.
We put the top two rows of sheathing on the long walls on Sat. the 21st.

Wall Framing

Ten foot walls being layed out with 2x4 studs. I'm using 2x4 instead of 2x6 because of the weight factor of the 16 ft sections, also, I plan to put more insulation in the ceiling than the walls. There are five windows in each side wall. Wall sheathing is 1/2 inch OSB.

Plumbing Rough-In

The septic line turned out to be exactly in the right position for the toilet to be where we wanted it. This was no small miracle.

Decking and Insulation

Insulation is R19 batts. Decking is 3/4 T and G Advantage. Several sheets were out of square, but we compensated. Decking took two days to complete.

Insulation and Walls

This is tarp under the floor joist to support and protect the insulation. Tarp was 40X60 ft., black on underside, from Distributing Company in West Gardiner.
